Frequently asked questions
What does net before income tax mean?
It is pay after employee social contributions but before income-tax withholding.
How is withholding estimated?
The calculator applies the official metropolitan France neutral-rate grid effective 1 May 2026 to estimated monthly taxable net pay.
Is the neutral rate my final income-tax rate?
No. It is used in cases such as when an employer has no personalised rate. Final tax depends on the annual return and household circumstances; a later adjustment may apply.
How is CSG treated?
Employee CSG is 9.2%, of which 6.8% is deductible from taxable income. The remaining 2.4% and 0.5% CRDS are not deductible.
What are the limitations?
Supplementary contributions and ceilings are modelled indicatively. Bonuses, collective agreements, supplementary health insurance, executive status and other payroll items can change the result.
