Questions people ask
How is Polish take-home pay calculated?
We subtract employee ZUS pension, disability and sickness contributions, the 9% health contribution and the PIT advance from gross pay. PIT-2, deductible costs and youth relief affect the result.
What does PIT-2 change?
When filed, PIT-2 lets the payer reduce the monthly PIT advance by PLN 300, one twelfth of the PLN 3,600 annual tax-reducing amount.
Is health insurance deductible from PIT?
No. The 9% health contribution is calculated on gross pay less employee social contributions and is not deducted from PIT in this model.
How does the under-26 relief work?
Qualifying employment income for people under 26 is exempt from PIT up to PLN 85,528 per tax year. ZUS and health contributions still apply.
Is this an exact payslip?
No. It is an estimate for a steady salary and selected month. Other reliefs, PPK, bonuses, benefits and annual tax settlement can change the result.
